Jobgether is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Security based in South Africa. This fully remote technology environment combines hands-on security with leadership to shape and scale an AI-first security program across engineering, IT operations, and compliance.

You will define standards, drive vulnerability management, and embed secure practices across the SDLC while collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to protect customer trust.

Qualifikationen

• At least 7 years of security experience with hands-on application security.
• Proven track record maturing an application security program, including security reviews and vulnerability management.
• Strong knowledge of secure software design, OWASP principles, and practical exploitation scenarios.
• Ability to read and understand application code and collaborate with engineers on remediation.
• At least 2 years of people management experience.
• Experience leading security initiatives while remaining technically hands-on.
• Familiar with AI-assisted security tools and workflows.

Aufgaben

• Define and own the application security roadmap, including vulnerability management, threat modeling, security reviews, and remediation processes for new features and architectural changes.
• Lead hands-on security reviews, triage vulnerabilities, and collaborate with engineers on remediation.
• Embed security-by-default practices across the software development lifecycle, including secure development standards and CI/CD security scanning.
• Design and implement an AI-first application security strategy and evaluate AI-assisted code analysis and remediation tools.
• Partner with engineering to strengthen development capabilities without bottlenecks.
• Oversee third-party and vendor security assessments ensuring external providers meet security standards.
• Establish zero-trust principles and collaborate on IAM, security logging, and alerting.
• Lead application-security incident response across cloud platforms and underlying systems.
• Support Compliance Lead and IT team with strategic direction and development.
• Align security, IT operations, and compliance under a unified strategy.
• Oversee access reviews, identity governance, and onboarding/offboarding with compliance evidence.
• Collaborate with compliance to address future frameworks and SOC 2 maturation.
• Represent security posture to leadership, customers, and auditors.
• Own security questionnaires and remediation plans for external stakeholders.
• Provide actionable recommendations on risks and operational improvements.
