Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel specializing in M&A to join their legal team. This fully remote role enables leading complex transactions from anywhere in South Africa, advising on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings.

You must be admitted as an attorney with 10+ years in M&A, deep corporate and securities law expertise, and a proven track record of closing deals.

Qualifications

• Admitted as an Attorney with at least 10 years of M&A experience.
• Expertise in corporate law, securities law, and transactional work.
• Proven track record closing complex M&A deals.
• Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal aspects of M&A transactions from due diligence to closing.
• Provide strategic legal advice on acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Oversee post-merger integration and corporate restructuring.
• Ensure compliance with corporate laws, securities regulations, and disclosure requirements.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and other advisors.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for M&A deals.
