Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Logistics Planner to join our client’s national logistics team in a fully remote capacity. Based near Stellenbosch, Western Cape, you will design and optimize logistics plans, analyze performance data, and drive efficiency and cost reductions across the network.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or Bachelor’s in Logistics or related field, 5–7+ years of experience, and strong skills in data analysis, WMS/TMS, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in logistics planning, supply chain management, or a similar role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful logistics strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Proficiency in logistics software, WMS, TMS, and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive logistics and transportation plans to optimize supply chain operations.
• Analyze transportation data, including costs, transit times, and delivery performance, to identify areas for improvement.
• Design and manage efficient routing strategies, considering factors such as cost, speed, and capacity.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of logistics plans.
• Monitor KPIs and provide regular reports on logistics performance to senior management.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to address logistical challenges and enhance efficiency.
• Negotiate rates and terms with transportation providers to secure competitive pricing.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards for logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Contribute to the development of long-term logistics strategies and network design.
