Placements24 client in the beauty industry is seeking a Remote Senior Cosmetic Chemist & Formulation Specialist. You will own the full formulation process from concept to scale-up, delivering stable, high-efficacy cosmetics and skincare products from your home office.

You will collaborate with R&D, marketing and regulatory affairs to translate briefs into robust formulations, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage documentation and testing across global standards.

Formación

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cosmetic formulation and product development.
• Demonstrated expertise in formulating a wide range of cosmetic product categories.
• Proficiency in cosmetic ingredient knowledge, properties, and interactions.
• Experience with stability testing, preservation, and regulatory compliance for cosmetics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and formulate innovative cosmetic and skincare products, including makeup, skincare, and hair care items.
• Conduct thorough research on new ingredients, technologies, and market trends to identify product opportunities.
• Perform bench-scale formulation and optimization, ensuring desired product attributes (texture, stability, efficacy).
• Oversee and manage stability testing, compatibility studies, and challenge testing for new formulations.
• Work closely with contract manufacturers and R&D partners for efficient scale-up and commercial production.
• Ensure all formulations comply with global regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EU, Health Canada).
• Prepare technical documentation, including formulation reports, ingredient statements, and manufacturing guidelines.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical support throughout the product development cycle.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to understand product briefs and translate them into successful formulations.
• Maintain an organized laboratory notebook and database of formulations and raw materials.
