Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Lead the civil design aspects of various infrastructure projects, including site development, drainage, and utility infrastructure. Develop and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications. Perform detailed site analysis, grading, and earthwork calculations using CAD and modeling software. Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national engineering codes and standards. Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of project milestones. Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies through virtual communication channels. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Conduct quality control reviews of designs and documentation. Stay abreast of new technologies and industry best practices in civil engineering design.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design. Demonstrated experience in managing complex civil infrastructure projects from inception to completion. Proficiency in industry-standard civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, or similar platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration. Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Access to a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup. Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is highly desirable.
