Placements24 is seeking a highly specialized Remote Senior Avionic Systems Specialist to design, integrate, test, and support cutting-edge avionic systems for a global client base.

This fully remote role requires 8+ years in avionic systems engineering, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a distributed, virtual environment. Flexible, remote-first opportunities are offered with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in avionic systems engineering.
• Deep understanding of avionic system integration, hardware, and software principles.
• Proficiency with avionic bus protocols such as ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, and AFDX.
• Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-178C and DO-254 standards.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience with configuration management and version control tools.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a virtual team structure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced avionic system architectures for new aircraft programs and upgrades.
• Integrate various avionic components, including navigation, communication, flight control, and display systems.
• Perform detailed system analysis, simulation, and performance modeling to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for avionic systems, both in simulation and on actual hardware.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to avionic systems remotely.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software and hardware engineers, and flight test personnel.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in avionic technologies and industry standards.
• Provide expert technical support and documentation for internal teams and external clients.
• Contribute to the development of system requirements and specifications.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and technical discussions.
