About the Role

Our client, an internationally recognized architectural practice known for its innovative and sustainable designs, is seeking a visionary Senior Architect to join their team. This is a fully remote position, offering an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects without geographical constraints, based within South Africa. You will lead design development, conceptualization, and technical documentation for a variety of projects, with a strong emphasis on sustainable building practices and energy efficiency. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a passion for environmentally conscious design and a proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion. This role requires a leader who can inspire and guide design teams in a remote collaborative environment, contributing to the future of sustainable construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for architectural projects, from conceptualization through to detailed construction documentation.
• Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and environmental standards.
• Prepare architectural drawings, renderings, and presentation materials using advanced software.
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to integrate various disciplines into the overall design.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively in a remote setting.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Star).
• Mentor and guide junior architects and designers, fostering a culture of design excellence.
• Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and sustainable design strategies.
• Present design proposals and concepts to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Professional Architect (Pr Arch) registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
• Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate experience in architectural design, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex and sustainable projects.
• Expert proficiency in architectural design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion).
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building technologies, and relevant certifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a remote work environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and building materials.
• A keen eye for detail and a passion for high-quality design.
