Placements24's client is seeking a Senior AI Research Scientist to join a globally distributed team focused on advanced generative models. This fully remote role enables work from George, Western Cape, ZA, with a strong emphasis on impactful research and collaboration.

You will lead R&D in deep learning, GANs, VAEs, and diffusion models; design and implement state‑of‑the‑art AI systems; collaborate with engineers and product managers; publish results and mentor junior researchers while driving

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's in Computer Science, AI, ML or related field.
• Proven research track record with publications in reputable venues.
• Strong deep learning theory and practice across frameworks (TF, PyTorch, JAX).
• Extensive experience with generative models and their applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced R&D in DL, NLP, CV, with emphasis on GANs/VAEs/diffusion.
• Design, implement, validate novel AI algorithms and models.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deploy AI products.
• Mentor junior researchers and publish findings in top venues.
