Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly capable Remote Telemetry and Control Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support SCADA and telemetry solutions for remote industrial processes.

You will work in a fully remote engineering department, using C++, Python, ladder logic, and structured text to deliver robust control systems. Candidates should excel in problem-solving, communication, and coordinating with distributed teams while meeting safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years designing, implementing and supporting telemetry and control systems (SCADA/PLC).
• Proficiency in programming languages used in control systems: C++, Python, Ladder Logic, Structured Text.
• Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, MQTT protocols and industrial network configurations.
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms: Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk.
• Strong analytical and remote problem-solving skills and effective written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy SCADA, PLC, and telemetry systems for remote monitoring and control.
• Develop and integrate custom software and HMI interfaces for data visualization.
• Perform remote troubleshooting, diagnostics and support for installed systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, project managers, and clients to define requirements.
• Create system documentation, including FDS, manuals, and testing procedures.
• Conduct remote testing and commissioning to verify functionality and performance.
• Stay updated on emerging automation, IoT, and remote sensing technologies.
• Analyze performance data to identify improvements and optimization opportunities.
