About the Role

Our client, a prominent manufacturing entity, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Remote Production Planning Specialist to join their operations team. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to manage production schedules and logistics from your home office. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing production plans to ensure the efficient and timely manufacturing of products while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing costs. You will work closely with various departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to forecast demand, manage inventory, and align production schedules with business objectives. This is a crucial role for maintaining operational fluidity and meeting market demands, all executed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to monitor progress against schedules and address any deviations or delays.
• Optimize production plans to maximize efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce lead times.
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Generate reports on production performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and forecast accuracy.
• Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans for production scheduling disruptions.
• Communicate production plans and updates effectively to relevant stakeholders.
• Utilize production planning software and ERP systems to manage and track production activities.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve planning processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, demand forecasting, and capacity planning.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams remotely.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant data analysis tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
