Placements24 is seeking a highly capable Remote Process Safety Engineer to identify and mitigate process hazards across global operations. This fully remote role lets you contribute to safety standards from your home office while supporting chemical and oil & gas projects.

You will lead PHAs (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), develop PSM systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and train teams. A CSP or equivalent is highly desirable, with 7+ years in process safety and strong collaboration skills in a remote

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of process safety experience in Oil & Gas or chemical industries.
• CSP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of PHA methodologies and PSM elements.
• Experience with remote collaboration tools and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in the downstream Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a highly competent Remote Process Safety Engineer. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to contribute to our mission of ensuring the highest safety standards without the need for physical office presence. You will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards across our operations. Responsibilities include conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), developing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) principles and a proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment. This role is vital for safeguarding our personnel, assets, and the environment, operating from your dedicated home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and review safety operating procedures, management of change (MOC) protocols, and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs).
• Provide technical support and guidance on process safety matters to engineering and operations teams.
• Conduct safety audits and assessments of facilities and processes.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs.
• Maintain process safety information and documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting using digital communication tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, specifically within the Oil & Gas or chemical industries.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and PSM elements.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a remote team environment.
• Proficiency in using virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, shared document platforms).
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently to meet project deadlines.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety culture and best practices.
