Placements24 seeks a visionary Principal Software Architect to define the technical vision for enterprise‑level SaaS platforms. This fully remote role leads architectural design, sets standards, and guides development teams to deliver scalable, secure systems.

You will mentor engineers, evaluate emerging technologies, and champion best practices in cloud‑native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes). A Master’s or PhD and 10+ years in software with 5+ in architecture are expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in architecture/lead roles.
• Experience designing complex, scalable, distributed SaaS systems.
• Knowledge of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, and SOA patterns.
• Cloud-native tech and containerization (AWS/Azure/GCP; Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in languages (Java, C#, Python, Node.js) and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience with API design, security, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architecture or lead architect role.
• Proven experience designing and architecting complex, scalable, and distributed systems, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• In-depth knowledge of various architectural patterns (e.g., Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, SOA).
• Expertise in cloud-native technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js) and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with API design, management, and security.
• Proficiency in domain-driven design (DDD) and enterprise integration patterns.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
