Placements24 is recruiting a remote Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist for a cutting-edge R&D program in collaboration with a global team. The role focuses on oral solid dosage development, pre-formulation studies, and scalable processes from home office.

You will design formulations, optimize solubility and bioavailability, and contribute to regulatory documentation while coordinating with cross-functional groups in a virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development with emphasis on oral solids.
• Proven expertise in formulation design, excipient selection, and process development.
• Experience with various formulation techniques and associated equipment.
• Strong understanding of drug solubility enhancement, bioavailability, and stability principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills.
• Proficiency in relevant scientific software and data analysis tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines remotely.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for drug product development is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop oral solid dosage formulations (tablets, capsules) and potentially other delivery systems.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies on APIs and excipients.
• Perform formulation optimization to enhance solubility, bioavailability, stability, and manufacturability.
• Develop and execute lab-scale formulation processes using granulation, blending, compression, coating, and encapsulation.
• Characterize and test formulations using dissolution, disintegration, content uniformity, and stability studies.
• Investigate and troubleshoot formulation and process-related issues.
• Collaborate with analytical development, process development, and project management teams remotely.
• Prepare comprehensive development reports and contribute to regulatory submission documents (IND, NDA).

Key Responsibilities
