Placements24 is seeking a Remote Narrative Designer to craft immersive stories and lore for its ambitious game projects. You will develop storylines, write dialogue, create character backstories, and weave narrative elements into gameplay in a distributed, remote-first environment.

Collaborate with design, art, and programming teams to shape expansive worlds. Bring a strong portfolio and a deep understanding of storytelling across media, with experience using game engines and scripting tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Narrative Designer or Writer in the games industry.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional writing skills and narrative design capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of storytelling principles and techniques across different media.
• Experience working with game engines and associated scripting or content creation tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop overarching narratives, plot structures, and character arcs for game projects.
• Write engaging dialogue, quest text, item descriptions, and environmental storytelling elements.
• Collaborate with level designers and systems designers to integrate narrative into gameplay mechanics and environments.
• Create and maintain narrative documentation, including story bibles and character profiles.
• Work closely with voice actors and audio teams to ensure narrative voice and tone are consistent.
