Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Mine Survey Manager to oversee surveying operations for its global mining projects, with a focus on setting standards and guiding distributed teams across sites.

The role emphasizes remote oversight, implementing best practices and new surveying technologies, ensuring data integrity for mine planning, and collaborating with planning, engineering and operations to provide spatial data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine surveying with leadership.
• Expertise in GPS/GNSS, total stations, laser scanning, and drone technology.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey.
• Exceptional remote management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement company-wide standards and procedures for mine surveying operations.
• Manage and mentor remote and site-based survey teams, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
• Oversee the acquisition, processing, and QA of all survey data (topographic, volumetric, positional).
• Select, evaluate, and implement surveying technologies and software solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for mine surveying.
• Collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and ops teams to provide essential spatial data.
