Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Mechanical Engineer specializing in automation to join a globally distributed team. You will design, develop, and implement automated machinery and robotics solutions from your home office, focusing on efficiency and reliability.

As part of a remote, results-driven role, you will collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to specify components, create 3D models, P&IDs, and control logic, and support testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in design of industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of robotics, PLC systems, and control logic.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer automated machinery, robotic cells, and material handling systems.
• Develop detailed 3D models, P&IDs, and technical documentation for automation projects.
• Specify components, including sensors, actuators, and controllers, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Collaborate remotely with electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to integrate systems.
• Conduct virtual design reviews and provide technical support during the build, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Optimize existing automation solutions for improved performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
