Job summary

SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company, is seeking an hourly remote contractor to review and generate language content, assess AI responses, and provide expert feedback on accuracy and reasoning. The role requires native Mandarin proficiency, strong English skills at C1, and 5+ years in localization/translation.

You’ll ensure model outputs are precise, clear, and culturally appropriate while maintaining high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications or related field.
• Native or near-native Mandarin proficiency and strong command of China locale conventions.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency (reading/writing) for prompts, sources, and guidelines.
• 5+ years of professional localization/translation experience.
• Ability to apply MQM/LQA concepts to quality decisions.
• Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows.
• Excellent editorial judgment with attention to tone, inclusivity, and nuance.
• Ability to rigorously fact-check localized content using reliable sources.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated responses and/or generate language content.
• Evaluate reasoning quality and problem-solving steps.
• Provide expert feedback for accuracy, clarity, and explanation.
• Assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify errors in methodology or conceptual understanding; fact-check information.
• Write high-quality explanations and model solutions.
• Rate and compare AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality.
