Placements24 is seeking an innovative Remote Machine Design Engineer to lead the conception, design and documentation of custom machinery and automated systems from a remote location. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that boost efficiency and productivity.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in machine design, and expert CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in machine design, preferably with custom or automation equipment.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and related simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, actuators, pneumatics, hydraulics, and motion control.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and detail complex machinery and automated systems using CAD.
• Develop mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Conduct design reviews with manufacturing, controls, and PM teams.
• Perform stress analysis and kinematic simulations to validate designs.

This position is fully remote, allowing you to apply your expertise in designing custom machinery and automated systems from your own location, supporting projects potentially near Mahikeng, North West. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and documenting complex machinery, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer who thrives in a remote setting and is passionate about creating state-of-the-art mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and detail complex custom machinery and automated systems using advanced CAD software.
• Develop comprehensive mechanical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with manufacturing, controls, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Perform stress analysis, kinematic simulations, and other engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support during fabrication and commissioning phases.
• Research and integrate new technologies and components to optimize machine performance and cost-effectiveness.
