Placements24 is seeking a Remote Legal Counsel specializing in Compliance to join their fully remote legal department in South Africa. The role emphasizes regulatory adherence, risk management and ethical corporate practice across the organisation.

You will develop and oversee compliance programs, perform audits, provide legal training, and advise on data privacy, AML and governance matters from any SA location.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney or Advocate with at least 7 years of regulatory compliance experience.
• Proven expertise in data privacy, AML, and corporate governance.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage complex compliance projects remotely.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with compliance management software and virtual collaboration tools.
• Experience in developing and delivering compliance training is desirable.
