Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Legal Advisor to join its established legal department. This remote role focuses on developing and overseeing compliance programs across the organization from anywhere in South Africa.

You will advise senior management on regulatory obligations, draft policies, manage filings, and train staff while staying abreast of POPIA, FIC Act, Companies Act, and other evolving laws. Strong independent work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with 6+ years PQE in compliance/regulatory law.
• Experience designing and implementing compliance frameworks and policies.
• In-depth knowledge of SA regulatory requirements: data privacy, financial crime, corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication; clarity in complex legal issues.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Proficient in legal research databases and compliance management software.
• Proactive and ethical approach to problem-solving.
