Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Sustainability Architect to drive environmentally responsible design outcomes across a nationwide portfolio. This fully remote role requires guiding architectural teams in sustainable strategies, certifications, and performance simulations for diverse projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Architecture with a specialization in sustainable design, 8+ years in architecture with 5+ in sustainability, and strong proficiency in LEED/Green Star SA

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Architecture with specialization in Sustainable Design or Environmental Building.
• At least 8 years in architectural design with 5+ years focused on sustainable design strategies.
• Proven experience managing sustainability aspects of major architectural projects.
• Deep knowledge of green building rating systems (LEED AP, Green Star SA AP preferred).
• Proficient in sustainability analysis and modeling software (IES VE, EnergyPlus, Ecotect).
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills; portfolio of sustainable projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of sustainability strategies from concept to completion.
• Develop and implement sustainable design guidelines and best practices.
• Conduct energy modeling, daylight analysis, and other performance simulations.
• Advise on sustainable materials and technologies selection.
• Manage pursuit of green building certifications (LEED, Green Star SA).
• Perform life cycle assessments of building components and systems.
• Stay updated with research, technologies and policies in sustainable architecture.
• Educate and mentor staff on sustainability principles and techniques.
• Collaborate with consultants, clients and project teams to meet goals.
• Prepare sustainability reports, presentations and documentation.
