Placements24 in South Africa seeks a Lead Web Developer to steer full-stack projects in a fully remote role. You’ll architect scalable systems, mentor a development team, and collaborate with designers and product managers across client projects.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience, strong front-end and back-end expertise, and a track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code. You will drive technical strategy, review code, and ensure best practices across distributed teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
• Extensive experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript with React/Angular/Vue.js).
• Strong back-end proficiency (Node.js, Python/Django/Flask, Ruby on Rails, PHP/Laravel).
• Solid database design/management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency with Git and version control.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience for development teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
• Home office setup with reliable high-speed internet for fully remote role.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of complex web applications using modern full-stack technologies.
• Architect scalable back-end solutions ensuring performance and security.
• Develop responsive front-end interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the stack.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote code quality through reviews.
• Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and user experience.
• Implement and manage database solutions (SQL/NoSQL).
• Stay current with emerging web development trends and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
