Placements24 is seeking a Lead BIM Architect for a premier architectural practice embracing digital transformation. This entirely remote role leads BIM standards, workflows, and technology adoption across projects, coordinating a distributed team of architects and BIM specialists.

You will drive implementation of BIM content libraries, clash detection, and data management, mentoring staff and communicating strategies to senior stakeholders. Remote work from South Africa is supported.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture with specialization in digital technologies.
• 9+ years of architectural practice, with at least 5 years in BIM leadership.
• Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Experience developing and deploying BIM standards and execution plans.
• Ability to lead remote or distributed teams and mentor staff.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Desirable: scripting, automation or generative design skills.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from within South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced BIM strategies, standards, and workflows for the firm.
• Lead a remote team of BIM coordinators and architects in managing complex BIM projects.
• Facilitate BIM coordination and clash detection processes across multidisciplinary teams.
• Train and mentor architectural staff on best practices in BIM software and digital design tools.
• Evaluate and integrate new BIM technologies and plugins to enhance design delivery.
• Oversee the creation and management of BIM content libraries and standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure BIM requirements are met for all project phases.
• Drive the adoption of digital workflows, including data management and analysis.
• Communicate BIM strategies and progress to senior management and project stakeholders.
• Champion the benefits of BIM and digital design for improved project outcomes.
