Olive Tree Consulting seeks an Associate Frontend Engineer to build lean, clear interfaces for a major South African retail client. This remote, entry-level role emphasizes translating design into responsive HTML/CSS/JS and collaborating with consultants to track decisions and improve leadership visibility.

You will work closely with our advisory team, writing readable code and participating in remote reviews to maintain quality while growing technical skills in a practical business setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency translating design into clean HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte).
• Knowledge of version control (Git).
• Experience with CSS preprocessors or utility-first CSS frameworks.
• Strong written communication and ability to work remotely.
• Attention to detail and accessibility awareness.

Responsibilities

• Translate basic design requirements into clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build and maintain reusable components for internal management tools.
• Ensure interfaces are responsive and accessible for all users.
• Collaborate with advisory team to understand client usage of tools.
• Write clear, readable code for team collaboration.
• Participate in remote code reviews to maintain quality.
• Troubleshoot small bugs and iteratively improve features.
• Document technical choices to clarify feature logic.
