Placements24 is seeking a Remote Industrial Systems Specialist to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize complex industrial systems from a distance. This fully remote role requires a strong background in industrial control systems, automation technologies, and effective remote communication with clients worldwide.

You will provide expert technical support, analyze performance data, and create thorough documentation while collaborating with on-site teams and client engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, CS or related field preferred.
• 6+ years in industrial systems, automation, PLC, SCADA or HMI.
• Proven remote troubleshooting and clear communication of solutions.
• Experience diagnosing industrial hardware and software components.
• Strong problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain tech to non-tech.
• Proficient with remote access software, collaboration tools and CRM.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity as relates to ICS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for industrial machinery, automation systems and control software via phone, video conferencing and remote access tools.
• Analyze system performance data, identify problems and propose proactive solutions to prevent failures.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, FAQs and best practice manuals for remote support.
• Collaborate with on-site field service teams and client engineers for complex repairs and upgrades.
• Conduct virtual training sessions for client personnel on operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Stay updated on advancements in industrial technology, automation and remote support methodologies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of remote support processes and tools.
• Manage assigned support tickets, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with industrial systems, automation, PLC programming, SCADA systems, or HMI development.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues remotely and effectively communicate solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing problems with industrial hardware and software components.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in utilizing remote access software, collaboration tools, and CRM systems.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity principles as they relate to industrial control systems is a plus.
