About the Role

Our client, a large hospitality and commercial property management group, is expanding its central operations and is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Remote Hygiene Services Manager. This role is critical for developing and overseeing comprehensive hygiene and sanitation strategies across the entire portfolio, ensuring the highest standards are met and maintained. Working entirely remotely, you will leverage your expertise to implement best practices, manage budgets, train regional teams, and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to lead hygiene initiatives from a distance, impacting operations nationwide from your home office, without needing to be based in Nelspruit .

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and continuously improve hygiene and sanitation policies and procedures across all managed properties. Design and deliver remote training programs for on-site cleaning staff and supervisors, focusing on best practices and compliance. Conduct virtual audits and assessments of hygiene standards, analyzing reports and identifying areas for improvement. Manage the procurement and distribution of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and sustainability. Oversee hygiene-related budgets, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Stay abreast of the latest developments in hygiene technology, cleaning science, and regulatory changes. Collaborate with regional operations teams to ensure effective implementation of hygiene strategies and provide expert support. Investigate and address any hygiene-related incidents or concerns, developing corrective action plans. Champion a culture of health, safety, and cleanliness throughout the organization. Report on hygiene performance metrics, trends, and initiatives to senior management.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of experience in hygiene management, cleaning operations, or facilities management, with a proven track record in a supervisory or management role. Extensive knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, sanitation best practices, and health & safety regulations. Experience in developing and implementing large-scale hygiene programs, preferably across multiple sites or brands. Excellent remote leadership, communication, and training skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Proficiency in using digital collaboration tools, performance management software, and standard office applications. Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment. A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control principles and their application in diverse settings. Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and foster a culture of hygiene awareness.
