Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Freight Operations Specialist to join its global logistics team. This fully remote position involves coordinating cross-border freight, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance from your home office.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in international freight forwarding or logistics, strong negotiation and communication abilities, and proficiency with TMS software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management.
• In-depth knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
• Proven experience working remotely and managing diverse logistics tasks independently.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in TMS and other logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international freight shipments (air, sea, and land).
• Liaise with carriers, customs brokers, and other 3PLs to ensure smooth transit.
• Track shipments, identify and resolve delays, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and documentation.
• Optimize freight costs and transit times through planning and carrier negotiations.
• Maintain records and update the transport management system.

About the Role

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to our international freight operations from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods across borders, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international freight shipments, including air, sea, and land transportation.

• Track shipments, proactively identify and resolve potential delays or issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations , customs requirements, and documentation.
• Optimize freight costs and transit times through effective planning and carrier negotiations.
• Maintain accurate records of all freight transactions and update the transport management system accordingly.
