Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Microbiology, Food Science, or related life science with food microbiology focus.
• Experience in applied microbiology using culture-based and molecular methods (PCR/qPCR).
• Knowledge of food processing technologies and microbial physiology.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and draw conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological analyses to identify and quantify microbial hazards in food products and production environments.
• Develop and validate new methods for detection and enumeration of foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms.
• Investigate microbial growth kinetics, survival, and inactivation under processing and storage conditions.
• Assess the efficacy of antimicrobial agents and preservation strategies for enhancing food safety.
• Interpret findings and contribute to science-based recommendations for the food industry.
