Job summary

Berlitz is seeking a part-time, freelance English Instructor to teach online. You will deliver engaging lessons using the Berlitz Method and adapt to each student’s goals from a flexible, remote setup.

We provide training, platforms, and ongoing support; you provide the instruction. Expect a schedule of 15–20 hours per week and a casual dress code in a diverse learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Teaching experience is a plus but not required.
• Expert-level English required.
• Exceptional communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for lessons using provided material and tailor to student needs.
• Create a risk-free environment for language experimentation.
• Document student progress after lessons.
• Schedule based on availability and commit to 15–20 hours per week.

About The Job

Students come to Berlitz not just to learn a language, but also to gain an understanding of the culture. As a part-time, Freelance English Instructor, you will work in a diverse environment that offers you a flexible schedule and casual dress code. While working with your students, you will use the Berlitz Method of instruction to create an environment where students feel free to experiment with the language and motivate them to achieve their language goals.

We provide you with a flexible training course where you will learn how to perform the Berlitz Method. You will also gain access to our platforms and technology which will allow you to deliver successful instruction.

This is all you need! We provide the students and support; you provide the instruction.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for your lessons by going through the provided material and deciding what should be taught and how it can be customized based on the student’s needs.
• Create a risk-free environment where students can feel free to make mistakes and experiment with the language.
• Document their progress after the lesson.
• Your schedule is based solely on your availability. We ask that you commit to providing 15-20 hours per week.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Teaching experience is a plus but not required.
• Expert-level English.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Technical requirements:

• A minimum of 15 Mbps download speed / 15 Mbps upload speed.
• A stable wired connection to the internet (Wi-Fi is not sufficient).
• A PC or laptop runningWindows 11or higher, or macOS 11 or higher (Linux does not support our applications).
• A USB headset and a camera.
• For those living in areas where load shedding occurs, it is required to have a backup system to support your devices.
• At least 2 GHz of base processing speed and RAM equal orabove 8 GB
