Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Energy Trading Operations Specialist to join their remote team in East London. You will manage trade confirmations, settlements, and reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely processing across energy markets.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 1–3 years in operations, with strong analytical skills and Excel proficiency. You will collaborate with front office and finance, and contribute to automation initiatives in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
1–3 years in operations, settlements, or back-office roles in energy or financial markets.
Strong understanding of energy trading processes and commodity markets.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High accuracy and attention to detail; proficient in Excel; experience with trading/settlement systems if possible.

Responsibilities

Process and confirm daily energy trades across markets.
Manage settlement for timely payment and delivery of commodities.
Reconcile trade positions and financial statements with counterparties and internal accounting.
Resolve discrepancies or settlement issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with trading policies, risk management procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with front office traders, risk, finance, and counterparties.
Assist in developing and implementing operational improvements and automation initiatives.
