Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Remote Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join the team from home. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring sanitation and hygiene strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and a healthy work environment.

You will assess risks, create preventive measures, and guide operational teams through virtual channels, driving EHS excellence across all locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety with emphasis on sanitation and hygiene management.
• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices in SA and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies focused on sanitation and hygiene.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and site evaluations for sanitation hazards.
• Create and deliver training on hygiene best practices and compliance to staff remotely.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Investigate EHS incidents, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with departments to integrate EHS practices into operations.
