Placements24 is seeking a Cybersecurity Apprentice for a fully remote role with support from a distributed team. You will receive intensive mentorship, gain hands-on exposure to threat detection, incident response, and security systems management.

Qualifications

• Interest in cybersecurity and threat landscapes.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and Windows/Linux.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration, especially remotely.
• Matric certificate; IT/CS degree or related certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security alerts and investigating potential threats.
• Learn to implement and maintain security protocols and best practices.
• Support the administration of security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises.
• Assist in responding to security incidents and breaches.
• Help develop and deliver security awareness training to staff.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of security documentation and policies.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with remote IT and security teams on various initiatives.
• Perform basic security audits and compliance checks.
