Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Corporate Sanitation Compliance Officer to ensure high hygiene and sanitation standards across Durban and KwaZulu-Natal. The role supports remote work while maintaining a strong on-site presence where needed, with a focus on audits, policy development, and staff training.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or related field and possess 4+ years of sanitation compliance experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Microbiology or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of sanitation management or compliance experience in a corporate/multi-site environment.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment and industry best practices.
• Solid understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain sanitation policies aligned with national and international health standards.
• Conduct remote and on-site audits of facilities for compliance and gaps.
• Investigate sanitation incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with facility management and vendors to implement cleaning programs.
• Stay updated on sanitation trends, technologies and regulatory changes.
• Prepare reports for senior management on compliance status and audit findings.
• Provide training to staff on sanitation best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Manage budgets for sanitation supplies and services.
• Serve as the main contact for sanitation inquiries.
