Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Legal Counsel specializing in contract law to support business operations nationwide from Gauteng. You will draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts while managing lifecycles and mitigating risks.

The role demands a high level of independence, deep expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, and the ability to provide practical legal guidance remotely across South Africa.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 7+ years PQE.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of contract and corporate law.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Advise stakeholders on contractual risks, obligations, and best practices.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution and renewal.
• Ensure contracts comply with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Develop and maintain standardized contract templates and clauses.
