Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Commercial Property Architect to lead the design of office, retail, and mixed-use developments in Mpumalanga/Nelspruit. This remotely-based role requires a proactive architect who can drive concept to construction documentation while coordinating with developers and consultants.

You will oversee project timelines and budgets, ensure code compliance, and deliver commercially viable, aesthetically pleasing designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial property development.
• Portfolio of successful commercial projects required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM).
• SACAP registration or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for commercial developments from concept to documentation.
• Coordinate with developers, investors, tenants, and consultants to define project requirements.
• Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and specs for commercial buildings.
• Ensure designs meet codes, zoning, accessibility, and safety standards.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and contractor coordination.
• Conduct site analyses, feasibility studies, and due diligence.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and construction progress.
• Liaise with authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
• Stay informed on market trends and innovative design solutions.
• Contribute to financial viability and marketability through design strategies.
