Placements24 seeks an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS, Azure and GCP in a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years in cloud security, strong IAM, encryption, and network security knowledge, and be comfortable working with distributed teams.

You will automate security using Terraform and CloudFormation, participate in incident response, and help ensure regulatory compliance across global cloud

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leader in cloud-based software solutions, is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join their expanding team on a fully remote basis. This role is paramount to ensuring the security and compliance of our client's cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and services, which are used by a global clientele. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security controls within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop and enforce security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including network security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.
• Implement and manage cloud security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, WAFs, and security monitoring solutions.
• Automate security processes and deployments using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents occurring within the cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud security architecture and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations for incident response as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cloud security engineering or a related role.
• Strong expertise in security principles and practices for major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on experience with cloud security tools, IAM, network security groups, encryption, and monitoring services.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with IaC tools.
• Understanding of container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with security compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) is desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
• Must possess a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office environment for this fully remote role.
