Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable cloud networks for a leading telecoms provider. This remote-first role offers the opportunity to architect secure, high-performance networks across AWS, Azure, and GCP while collaborating with a distributed team.

You will design VPCs, subnets, routing, and DNS, automate provisioning with Terraform and CloudFormation, and uphold robust security with firewalls and VPNs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in network engineering with a focus on cloud networking (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking concepts, services and best practices.
• Experience with VPCs, subnets, routing, and firewalls in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, VPNs in cloud contexts.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and remote teamwork skills.
• Relevant cloud networking certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud network architectures on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, security groups).
• Ensure high availability and performance via monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Develop and manage VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancing, and DNS.
• Automate network provisioning and management with scripting and IaC.
• Collaborate with development/ops to support deployments and meet network requirements.
• Monitor network traffic, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions.
• Stay current with cloud networking trends and offerings.
• Document network designs, configurations, and procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent network issues.
