Employmate Limited is seeking a Client Due Diligence and Compliance Specialist for a fully remote role based in South Africa, with UK business hours. You will verify clients, monitor activity, and support the regulatory framework across onboarding, ongoing monitoring and banking relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in Customer Due Diligence, Know Your Customer and Enhanced Due Diligence checks.
• Experience reviewing Source of Funds and Source of Wealth documentation.
• Knowledge of Politically Exposed Persons, sanctions and adverse media screening requirements.
• Experience conducting transaction monitoring and escalating suspicious activity.
• Understanding of anti-money laundering regulations and compliance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills; confident with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in regulatory compliance.
• Assist with operation and improvement of the compliance and financial crime framework.
• Perform CDD and EDD checks on new and existing clients.
• Review Source of Funds and Source of Wealth information and docs.
• Conduct PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening.
• Investigate screening matches and escalate concerns.
• Carry out live and retrospective transaction monitoring for suspicious activity.
• Review monitoring alerts and ensure proper investigation and escalation.
• Apply a risk-based approach to assess compliance matters and actions.
