Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Civil Infrastructure Manager to oversee nationwide civil infrastructure projects from a base near Soweto. The role requires a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering with Pr Eng registration and at least 10 years of progressive project management experience.

You will lead remote teams, ensure quality and safety, and deliver projects on time while liaising with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and Pr Eng registration are required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive civil engineering project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and FIDIC conditions of contract.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and execution of civil infrastructure projects from inception to completion.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Civil Infrastructure Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of key civil infrastructure projects across the country. This fully remote role demands exceptional leadership, project management acumen, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles. You will manage project lifecycles, coordinate with remote teams, clients, and contractors, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and timely completion, supporting projects nationwide from your base near Soweto.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning and execution of diverse civil infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules, implementing effective risk management strategies.
• Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, and construction contractors in a remote setting.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
• Serve as the primary liaison with clients and stakeholders, providing regular progress reports and fostering strong relationships.
• Drive innovation in project delivery methods and promote best practices in civil infrastructure development.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng).
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management and infrastructure development.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of contract law, FIDIC conditions of contract, and procurement processes.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated experience and comfort working effectively in a fully remote management capacity.
