About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Bioinformatician to join their cutting-edge genomics research team. You will play a critical role in advancing our understanding of genetic variation and its impact on various biological processes and diseases. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain computational pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq data.
• Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic data to identify significant patterns, variants, and biomarkers.
• Collaborate with biologists and clinicians to design experiments, define analytical strategies, and interpret results in the context of biological questions and research hypotheses.
• Utilize and adapt existing bioinformatics tools and develop novel algorithms or scripts as needed to address specific research challenges.
• Manage and curate large genomic datasets, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and efficient storage.
• Clearly document analysis methods, results, and contribute to the writing of scientific reports and publications for distributed teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets using various bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with command-line interfaces (Linux/Unix).
• Expertise in common bioinformatics software packages and databases relevant to genomics (e.g., GATK, Samtools, ANNOVAR, Ensembl).
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for scalable data analysis is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively in a distributed, international team environment.
