About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join their innovative genomics research team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for analyzing large-scale genomic datasets to uncover biological insights and drive therapeutic discoveries. You will collaborate with experimental biologists and bioinformaticians to develop and apply cutting-edge computational methods. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and experience with high-performance computing environments, contributing to a research agenda focused on precision medicine and novel biological understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement computational pipelines for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including WGS, WES, and RNA-Seq.
• Perform statistical analysis of genomic data to identify genetic variants, understand gene expression patterns, and discover biomarkers.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies, interpret results, and guide future research directions.
• Develop and maintain software tools and scripts to automate data analysis and facilitate reproducibility.
• Contribute to the interpretation of complex genomic findings and their implications for disease understanding and drug development.
• Present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific forums.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology , Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python and R.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods, population genetics, and genomic data analysis .
• Experience with common bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., GATK, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP) and high-performance computing clusters.
