Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with biologists and other researchers to define research questions and design appropriate computational analyses.
• Visualize and interpret genomic data, presenting findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to the development of new algorithms and software tools for bioinformatics analysis.
• Ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and efficient data management practices.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and biological research.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall scientific strategy of the research group.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python or R.
• Strong experience with relevant bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., SAMtools, BWA, GATK, Ensembl, NCBI).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Excellent understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and genomics principles.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
