Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with 3-5 years of experience specifically in commercial litigation.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and evidence law in South Africa.
• Excellent drafting, advocacy, and research skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
• A proactive approach to case management and client service.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, affidavits, and court applications.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Conduct discovery, take depositions, and engage in pre-trial preparation.
• Liaise effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
• Assist senior attorneys in developing case strategies and advising clients on litigation risks and options.
