Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Software Engineers in Cape Town to build, evaluate, and improve AI-generated code—training AI systems to think like real developers. You will write, review, and refine solutions across languages, contributing to safe and reliable AI coding assistants.

This fully remote, hourly-contract role offers flexible hours, independence, and the chance to shape cutting-edge AI tooling while delivering high-quality engineering work. A degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/SE or related field.
• Experience across multiple programming languages and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, write, and reason about code with clarity and precision.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and optimize code across a range of languages, frameworks, and problem domains.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs, logic errors, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
• Provide structured, detailed feedback explaining why code works — or doesn't.
• Design challenging coding prompts and edge‑case scenarios to stress‑test AI capabilities.
• Compare and rank multiple AI-generated solutions based on engineering quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule.
