Placements24 is seeking a remote Agronomist specializing in Crop Science to design field trials, analyze crop data, and develop new agronomic methods to boost yields, quality, and resilience.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or Master’s in Agronomy with at least six years of research experience and is proficient in SAS, R, SPSS, and GIS, capable of working independently in a fully remote setup.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master's in agronomy, crop science, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive R&D experience in crop science.
• Experience designing and conducting field trials and data collection.
• Strong knowledge of crop physiology, genetics, soil science.
• Proficient in SAS, R, SPSS; experimental design principles.
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage field research trials for various crops, focusing on new varieties, fertilizers, and crop protection strategies.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret agronomic data, including yield, soil, weather, and pest/disease incidence data.
• Develop and refine best practice recommendations for crop cultivation based on research findings.
• Collaborate with internal research teams, external partners, and agricultural stakeholders to advance crop science initiatives.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, technological innovations, and regulatory changes in crop science and agronomy.
• Prepare detailed research reports, scientific publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on crop-related issues to support product development and market initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and climate change adaptation.
• Manage research budgets and timelines effectively for assigned projects.
• Mentor and guide junior researchers or technical staff as needed.
