Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Agronomist to deliver expert crop monitoring and advisory services to farmers worldwide. You will analyze crop health, soil data, and weather patterns using satellite imagery and FMIS tools, providing timely, actionable recommendations to optimize yields and resource use.

The role requires strong agronomy foundations, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in agronomy or crop consulting, with exposure to digital farming tools.
• Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, crop nutrition, and integrated pest management.
• Experience with remote sensing data analysis platforms (e.g., Sentinel Hub, Google Earth Engine).
• Experience with FMIS and data visualization tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical information clearly.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor crop growth, health, and issues using remote sensing data and digital tools.
• Analyze soil data, weather forecasts, and historical data to tailor irrigation and fertilization recommendations.
• Develop and deliver agronomic advice via digital reports, video calls, and online platforms.
• Assist clients in interpreting data from FMIS and sensor networks.
• Stay up-to-date with research and advancements in agronomy and ag tech.
• Contribute to development of new advisory services and digital tools.
• Maintain detailed records of client interactions and outcomes.
• Collaborate with data scientists and other agronomists remotely.
