Placements24 is seeking a Remote Agronomist Specialist to advise farmers and land managers across South Africa using data-driven insights and remote support. You will analyze soil health, crop data, and environmental factors to optimize planting, irrigation, and pest management.

This fully remote role emphasizes independent project management, clear communication, and staying current with research and regulatory changes affecting Limpopo and broader SA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Agronomy or related field.
• Min 5 years in agronomy with crop physiology and soil science.
• Experience in remote agricultural consulting or technical support.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert agronomic advice remotely via video conferencing, email, and phone.
• Analyze soil samples, crop health data, and environmental factors to tailor planting, fertilization, irrigation, and IPM strategies.
• Develop and implement sustainable farming techniques to optimize yield and minimize environmental impact.
• Conduct virtual field assessments and guidance on soil conservation and water management.
• Stay updated with latest research, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting SA agriculture and Polokwane region.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to product innovation and service improvement.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Educate clients on effective use of digital agricultural tools and platforms.
