Placements24 is seeking a Remote Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to champion ecologically sound and economically viable farming practices. You will consult with agricultural businesses to develop strategies for soil conservation, water management, biodiversity, and reduced chemical inputs, with a focus on Paarl and beyond.

This fully remote role requires deep knowledge of ecological farming, strong communication, and the ability to guide clients toward sustainable operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Sustainable Agriculture or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in sustainable agriculture, conservation, or environmental consulting.
• Strong knowledge of soil science and agroecology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client interaction and reporting.
• Experience delivering virtual consultations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive sustainable agriculture plans for clients.
• Advise on soil health improvement techniques, including cover cropping and reduced tillage.
• Provide expertise on water conservation and efficient irrigation methods.
• Promote biodiversity within agricultural landscapes and integrated pest management strategies.
• Conduct remote assessments of current farming practices and identify opportunities for sustainability improvements.
• Educate clients on regulations, certifications, and best practices related to sustainable agriculture.
• Research and recommend environmentally friendly inputs and technologies.
