Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Agricultural Data Analyst to support vineyard operations around Stellenbosch and beyond. You will collect, clean, and interpret large agricultural datasets, delivering insights to optimize farming practices and yields.

Work with vineyard managers and agronomists to drive informed decisions using advanced analytics and visualization tools from anywhere. You will develop dashboards with Tableau or Power BI, collaborate with field teams, and explore

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics or Agricultural Science.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst with data manipulation, statistics and visualization.
• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL for data querying.
• Experience with agricultural data platforms and remote sensing is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to present findings clearly.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and clean diverse agricultural datasets, including sensor data, weather patterns, soil analyses, and yield reports.
• Perform statistical analysis and modeling to identify trends, correlations, and predictive insights related to crop performance and resource management.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with field teams to understand data collection needs and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Research and recommend new analytical methodologies and data sources to enhance agricultural decision-making.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide technical support for data management systems.

Requirements
