Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical and self-motivated Remote Agricultural Data Analyst to collect, clean, and analyze large farming datasets, supporting global operations with emphasis on Africa. This fully remote role requires translating complex data into actionable insights for sustainable farming and higher yields.

You will collaborate with agronomists, researchers and business teams, build dashboards, and develop models to track crop performance and environmental factors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and relevant data analytics experience.
• Experience applying data analytics in agriculture or data-intensive industries.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python (Pandas/NumPy) or R.
• Experience creating dashboards with Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize large agricultural datasets from various sources, including sensor data, satellite imagery, and farm records.
• Develop and implement statistical models and algorithms to analyze crop performance, soil conditions, and environmental factors.
• Create clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in agricultural data to inform strategic planning and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and interpret analytical results relevant to agriculture and food production .
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data analytics and agricultural technology to continuously improve analytical methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Agriculture, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on the agricultural sector or similar data-intensive industries.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical modeling techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
